Kristal Klaar : Sax + Tutu Puoane Sextet

26.02.2015 @ De Markten
Feb 23 2015
Brosella and the Kunsthumaniora Brussel join once again forces to shape this pupil-tutor program. During three concert events, the young and most talented students of the classical and jazz department, share a stage with their coach and other professional musicians. Each concert is headed by a music teacher (professional artist) and puts his or her instrument in the spotlights. Both, Brosella and the Kunsthumaniora Brussel, are committed to high artistic standards. The quality of the program presented by the musicians in the Spiegelzaal of De Markten, is guaranteed. Concerts you surely do not want to miss!

The second concert in the series of the 7th edition of “Kristal Klaar” is entirely dedicated to the saxophone and will be conducted by Wietse Meys. Once more, a selection of young, talented musicians of Kunsthumaniora Brussel are ready to share their passion with you, while professional musicians will perform during the second part of the evening. Together, they will introduce to you the variety of roles the saxophone can play.

Together with their mentors, Wietse Meys en Dieter Limbourg, these young talented musicians will perform music of Supersax, a band formed in the Seventies by saxophone player Med Flory and bass player Buddy Clark, dedicated to the legendary bebop saxophonist Charlie Parker. The music and solo parts of Charlie Parker inspired the band to create magnificent arrangements, to be performed by a complete saxophone section of a big band.

In the second part of the evening, the Tutu Puoane sextet will introduce to you the saxophone in interaction with other instruments and, last but not least, the human voice.

Not only a must for saxophone lovers, everyone will be enchanted by this program.

Young Talent

Seppe De Bleser (alto saxophone), Creo Cristoria (tenor saxophone), Tobias Volckaert (tenor saxophone).

These young passionate artists, who are really in love with music and their instrument, are inspiring through their selection of the works of Supersax.
